A friend returns

Graham Scott

Professor Graham Scott returns for six recitals starting on Tuesday 23rd April in Stockton and ending on SATURDAY 27th at Christ Church. (NOT Friday as originally advertised)

Graham has been a continuous visitor to Master Musicians for some thirty years and we have charted his progress from teaching at the Royal School of Music and Dramatic Art in Glasgow to his spell as a professor at the University of Chicago and subsequently to Head of Keyboard at The Royal Northern School of Music, Manchester where he has been for over ten years. In 1995, his recording “Live in Los Angeles” featuring music by Beethoven, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Chopin and Liszt  appeared on the Master Musicians label (ESCD002). We continue to enjoy music from many of his top students, and the maestro himself on numerous occasions. Long may it continue.

GRAHAM SCOTT  studied at Chetham’s School, Manchester and the Royal Northern College of Music. Winner of several national and international piano competitions, of particular note are the 1991 Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York, the 1991 Jaen International Competition in Spain, and the 1988 Dudley National Piano Competition. The latter prize led to his Wigmore Hall debut. Graham has given major recitals in Paris, Tokyo, Boston, New York, Washington and Los Angeles, and appears regularly throughout the UK, including the Wigmore Hall, South Bank Centre, Barbican and Queen’s Hall Edinburgh. He has appeared as soloist with the London Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. After four years as Professor at  Roosevelt University in Chicago, Graham returned to the UK in 2007 to take up the post of Head of Keyboard at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester
